Making great factual TV is an art and there’s also an art to being a great
factual presenter on television. We’re searching for the most engaging,
most passionate, most knowledgeable personality in TV around the
world who will be the 2016
AIBs
TV personality.
It’s likely that the winner will be a regular on-air presenter who is
authoritative without being overbearing and comes across to the
audience as someone they can rely on to tell them the facts. The
winner will be the sort of person who walks into a room and lights it up,
able to interact with anyone from any walk of life.
Our judges are looking for people who can demonstrate that they have
a “well-stocked” mind and who relate to the stories they are
presenting. The personality of the year will stand out from the crowd
and make viewers and listeners take note. And of course, if they are
interviewers, they will instinctively know the questions that their
audience want asked and not be afraid to ask challenging questions.
Our judges will want to see evidence of the presenter’s work in a show
reel that lasts for a maximum of 30 minutes. They will also want a
biography, demonstrating how they have reached the top of their
profession.
Remember that the personality must have been regularly on air
between 1 June 2015 and 30 June 2016.
