Sport captures the audience’s imagination when it comes to TV,

drawing some of the largest global and domestic viewing figures.

There’s extensive technological innovation benefiting this genre such as

ever higher resolution cameras and ever more flexible presentation

tools for producers, commentators and live presenters to work with.

In 2016 the AIB is looking for the most outstanding sports event

coverage that makes best use of these advances in sports storytelling.

The winning entry will show groundbreaking pre-event sequences, go

behind the scenes, talking with athletes, competitors and coaches in

the lead-up to the event. The use of clear, relevant and visually

appealing graphics will help the viewer make sense of the action. The

complete sports package will make the viewer feel they are at the

event.

Your sport programme should have been transmitted or made available

online between 1 June 2015 and 30 June 2016.
