France 24 in English strengthens its presence in Singapore

The international news channel France 24 strengthens its presence in Singapore thanks to a new distribution agreement with the telecommunications operator StarHub. This agreement makes France 24 in English accessible to all StarHub subscribers (channel 724).

Already available via Singtel (channel 159), France 24 in English now reaches all Singaporean television households.

As the world watches the war in Ukraine, Russians are carrying out another fight, in Africa. Since 2017, the mercenaries of the Wagner Group, a Russian secret army have set up their base in the Central African Republic. They protect the regime in exchange for mineral resources and deploy aggressive propaganda to cover up the massacres, rapes and torture they are accused of. 

Taking advantage of France’s loss of influence in its former colony, torn apart by decades of a deadly civil war, Russia has turned the country into the laboratory of a new information war. Using education, cinema, and even vodka.

France 24’s correspondent Sarah Morris has been named “best foreign correspondent in Spain” by the International Press Club (Club Internacional de Prensa) for the quality and depth of her coverage of the latest news in the country. The award ceremony will take place on September 22nd in Madrid.

Each year, the International Press Club (Club Internacional de Prensa) of Spain, chaired by Javier Fernandez Arribas, rewards the work of Spanish journalists and correspondents.
