Not every news story calls for a 30 minutes – or longer – production. In
fact, there is an increasing number of top-quality short news reports
covering a remarkable range of subjects broadcast both on television
and online platforms.
This category is open to broadcasters, independent producers,
newspapers and online platforms who produce short news reports,
with a running time of a maximum of 10 minutes.
Telling a story effectively in limited time can be challenging, particularly
those involving complex issues. We have seen a range of excellent work
in this category.
We’re searching for the best news stories told in a succinct, effective
way that grabs the audience’s attention and delivers factual stories with
impact.
All submissions must have been aired or released online between 1
June 2015 and 30 June 2016.
