NHK WORLD TV continues its expansion in Asia on PEO TV platform in Sri Lanka

NHK WORLD TV, a 24-hr English language channel, further consolidates its IPTV presence in Asia with its launch on PEO TV on 8 February 2016 in a deal with Sri Lanka Telecom PLC. This launch effectively adds 160,000 new subscribers to NHK WORLD TV’s existing presence via broadband in Sri Lanka.
“This deal, coming soon after our successful launch in Indonesia (October) and Vietnam (November) last year, demonstrates the relevance of NHK WORLD TV’s content in Asia. Going forward, we will continue to provide up-to-date domestic and international news on Asia from various perspectives with accuracy and speed to our discerning subscribers,” said Yoshihiko Shimizu, President and CEO, Japan International Broadcasting.
Yoshihiko Shimizu added that the wide variety of entertainment programs available to the new subscribers will make the English language channel a complete package for the whole family.

NHK WORLD TV, 24-hr English language channel launches on PT MNC Sky Vision and PT MNC Kabel Mediacom platforms

NHK WORLD TV expands its presence on DTH and IPTV in Indonesia through a new deal inked with PT MNC Sky Vision and PT MNC Kabel Mediacom. NHK WORLD TV will now offer its contents on Indovision, OKEVision, Topvision and Playmedia. This move further increases the existing footprint of NHK WORLD TV in Indonesia with the addition of 2.5 million new subscribers.

The stand-alone, 24-hour, English-language television lifestyle and news network produced by NHK, Japan’s sole public, independent broadcaster, launched today.

NHK WORLD TV is now available to viewers in Russia as part of the Super-Optimum and Maximum HD channel packages. The network can be found on channel 178 for MPEG4 STB holders and on channel 209 for HDSTB holders.

NHK WORLD TV partners with POST Luxembourg to launch 24-hour channel in Luxembourg

Japan International Broadcasting (http://www.jibtv.com/), the distribution company of NHK, and POST Luxembourg (http://www.post.lu), have announced a new partnership which brings NHK WORLD TV (www.nhk.or.jp/nhkworld/) to more than 34,000 subscribers in Luxembourg through its IPTV offering, “PostTV”.The stand-alone, 24-hour, English-language television news and lifestyle network produced by NHK, Japan’s sole public, independent broadcaster, launched on Saturday, May 10, 2014.

POST Luxembourg is a leading telecommunications operator in Luxembourg. NHK WORLD TV is now available in standard definition (SD) on channel 95 and will soon be accessible in high definition (HD) on channel 195 to all PostTV basic subscribers.

NHK WORLD TV partners with Germany’s MEDIA BROADCAST to launch 24-hour channel in Berlin
