Today in New York on behalf of the Board of Directors of the North American Broadcasters Association the NABA President, Robert Briskman, announced the appointment of Michael McEwen as its Director General.

The Damascus office of Rusiya Al-Yaum, RTs Arabic channel, is damaged as dual terrorist attacks strike Syrias capital.
RTs Rusiya Al-Yaum Damascus bureau was damaged by a car bomb blast in the citys downtown on Saturday morning. The blast wave shattered windows and partially destroyed the building’s façade but no RT staff were in the office at the time.
The bomb was one of two which targeted Syrian security service offices in central Damascus, killing 27 people and injured over 100.
RTs Damascus office continues to operate, as equipment was not damaged by the explosions.

Two British journalists working for Press TV have been released after four weeks in detention in Libya.
Gareth Montgomery-Johnson and Nicholas Davies had been arrested by a Libyan militia group, accused of spying.
According to Britain’s Guardian newspaper, Abed al-Menemayad, head of the media and international cooperation office at the Interior Ministry, said: “They have been released and tomorrow they will leave the country.”
“The British consul received them and the charges against them have been dropped.”
The British embassy in Tripoli confirmed the release, adding: “The journalists have confirmed that they are well and look forward to being reunited with their families soon”.
