Al Arabiya news channel, based in Dubai, has scooped the world with the first TV interview with President Barack Obama.
The interview was broadcast on 26 January and was carried out by the
channel’s Washington Bureau Chief, Hisham Melhem. With the the Map Room in the
White House as the backdrop, Obama talked about Al-Qaeda, living in Muslim
countries and the Palestine-Israel conflict.
