THE CHANNEL
t’s a good bet globally.
According to new research
from ABI Research, the three
largest OTT markets are
North America, Europe and
Asia‐Pacific. The continued
adoption of connected
consumer electronics, Internet‐
enabled TVs and mobile devices,
like tablets and smartphones, is
expected to push the OTT market
past $20bn by 2015.
COMPLETE CONTROL
In an effort to facilitate this
revenue‐generating opportunity for
our customers, we at Vizrt have
partnered with Vimond Media
Solutions to give broadcasters
complete control of their video
content across the various
distribution platforms while
ensuring a compelling multiscreen
experience for viewers, wherever
they are. For content creators and
distributors, a fully integrated
solution with well‐defined tasks
among the production staff is
critical to OTT success.
No other platform combines the
ability to merge graphics and video
with a comprehensive journalist
tool to create imaginative and
informative online content while
also providing a fantastic user
experience on any platform. With
the addition of Vimondʹs
technology, Vizrt stands now as the
leader in the online content
management world.
The solution uses the Viz Media
Engine Online Suite to manage
video content—from ingest to
editing —and Vimondʹs automated
workflow distribution, player and
monetisation tools to get it to the
right place at the right time.
Vimondʹs over‐the‐top TV technology
provides an automated workflow to
stream video in a variety of formats
to ensure that the user has the best
possible viewing experience.
ONLINEASSETS
Our engineering staff along with
Vimond’s have worked closely
together to tightly integrate the
Vizrt Online Suite, a fully networked
content management platform,
with Vimond’s over‐the‐top TV
toolset to give journalists and
broadcasters a powerful engine that
maintains the online presence and
the presence across all platforms as
well as complete control over all of
their online assets.
Using the Vizrt Online Suiteʹs
content management system,
Escenic Content Studio, a journalist
creates stories, edits graphics and
map, with full access to every clip
stored on the Vimond Platform.
Finished videos are then
automatically converted
(transcoded) into multiple formats
for display; with the graphics either
burned in or added live while
streaming. The Vimond video
player and control system handles
the distribution and the end userʹs
interaction with the online content.
We showed this collaboration at
NAB and it drew a lot of attention
from attendees, both from the US
and internationally, looking to
launch new channels over existing
IP infrastructure.
TWENTYBILLIONDOLLARPIE
Vimondʹs CEO Helge Høibraaten

all about enabling broadcasters to
have an efficient and combined
workflow for broadcast and TV
