AIB

SOURCEBOOK:

CONNECTINGUS

AIB is in touch with well in excess of 25,000

media professionals globally - from Afghanistan

to Zaire, Germany to Singapore.

As a result, AIB is well-placed to provide the

broadcasting and electronic media industries

with an unbeatable range of contacts. And that’s

what we do with the AIB Global Broadcasting

Sourcebook.

Launched three years ago at the request of

AIB members, the Sourcebook is an invaluable

and unique directory of the world’s major

broadcasters, satellite platforms, IPTV

operators and cable networks. And as media

and telecoms converge, the new edition of the

AIB Sourcebook - to be published on 8

September - now carries contact data for the

people in mobile operators who are doing deals

with broadcasters.

This year’s edition of the AIB Sourcebook has

been thoroughly revised and updated. We have

doubled the amount of contact information the

book carries, and for the first time we’re

including a range of invaluable contextual

information about broadcasting markets and

developments in key sectors such as cable and

satellite.

Through our partnership with Cambridge-

based Broadband TV News, the AIB Sourcebook

is now even more comprehensive covering the

TV, radio, satellite and cable industries, as well

as the fast-developing IPTV and mobile content

sectors.

Keeping up-to-date with people’s movements

in the industry has never been more important

and that’s where the AIB Sourcebook comes

into its own - because AIB is in personal contact

with thousands of industry executives, the

information in the Sourcebook is highly reliable.

Details of how to order this new Sourcebook

appear on page 13. The 2009 AIB Global

Broadcasting Sourcebook is available in both

print and PDF versions.

If we’re not already in touch with you, we’re

looking forward to connecting with you. Call by

our exhibition booth at IBC in Amsterdam in

September, meet us at the NewsXchange in

Malta in October and of course join us for our

annual celebration of success, the 2009 AIBs, in

London on 4 November.

NEW AIB

MEMBERS

The AIB, the industry association

for international TV, radio and

online, is delighted to announce

two new additions to its global

membership.

Al Jazeera Children’s Channel

[JCC]

has enrolled as a Gold

based channel’s key place in

international TV as well as its

support of the industry’s trade

association.

JCC was launched in 2005,

broadcasting commercial-free

“edutainment” programmes to

children across the Middle East.

Earlier this year, it launched

Baraem, a pre-school channel.

6 News

in Turkey - the first

multi-lingual, multi-national news

station in the country - has joined

the AIB as a corporate member.

Launched in August 2008, 6

News broadcasts in Turkish,

English, Russian and Arabic.

JCC and 6 News will receive the

full range of AIB member benefits,

offering them relevant information

and services.

The membership package

includes access to AIB member-

exclusive market intelligence

briefings; access to the AIB online

video and audio archive;

promotional support through the

pages of this magazine, AIB’s e-

newsletter, and at industry events

around the world; voting rights in

elections to the AIB Executive

Committee; and specially-
